A former prosecutor for the federal government, Charles Adeogun-Philips was on Friday, arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The International Criminal Lawyer was picked up outside the EFCC’s Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi, Lagos state, where he had been representing a client.
Earlier, the EFCC had invited Adeogun-Phillips to explain the whereabouts of his client, Dauda Lawal, the APC governorship candidate in Zamfara state.
In his response to the anti-graft agency however, the lawyer told EFCC last Friday, that Mr. Lawal is currently out of the country and requested for more time to respond to the invitation.
As of the time of filing this report, no reason has been given by the EFCC, for his detention.
